PITTSBURGH (Nov. 27, 2019) – The 29th annual YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Turkey Trot, presented by UPMC Health Plan is tomorrow on Thursday, Nov. 28 beginning at 8 a.m. Race-day information including parking, packet pick-up and other details is below.

Registration and Packet Pick-up
Pre-race registration for the event closes at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m. and is limited to the first 100 people.

The last packet pick-up before the race is Wednesday from Noon – 7 p.m. Packet pick-up is located at the Pirates gameday storefront in PNC Park on Mazeroski Way.

There will be no race-day packet pick-up. If participants are unable to make it to packet pickup, they should arrange with friends or family to pick up their bib and shirt.


Races & Start Times
The 2019 Turkey Trot will begin outside PNC Park and feature the following events:
8 a.m.       MedExpress Family Fun 1 Mile Run/Walk
8:30 a.m.  Turkey Trot 5K, presented by UPMC Health Plan
                 Gentile, Horoho & Avalli, P.C. Double Gobble (5K + 5 Mile)
9:15 a.m.  Pittsburgh Pirates 5-Mile Run


Road Closures
Roads will begin closing at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Streets that are a part of the course and therefore closed are as follows:

  • Mazeroski Way
  • North Shore Dr.
  • Reedsdale St.
  • Art Rooney Ave
  • West General Robinson St.
  • Federal St.
  • 6th Street Bridge
  • Fort Duquesne Blvd; both directions between 7th Street Bridge and Commonwealth Place
  • Commonwealth Place
  • Blvd of the Allies
  • Stanwix Street between Liberty Ave and 4th Ave
  • 3rd Ave
  • Market St.

All side streets feeding into the above streets will also be closed. See race map for more details.


Parking

Parking is pre-paid and included in your registration. Parking lots around the park will be open on race day as follows:

  • Prior to 7:30 a.m.: Participants may use Gold Lot 1, Lots 7A, B or C, or the West General Robinson Street Garage.
  • After 7:30 a.m.: Participants may use Lots 7A, 7B or 7C, or the West General Robinson Street Garage.

Additional paid parking will be available at the Carnegie Science Center.

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh highly encourages participants to arrive early, prior to 7:30 a.m.


Public Transportation
The T's North Shore Connector will be open on race day. At this point in time, the Port Authority anticipates service starting at 6:00 AM. Please call the Port Authority at 412-442-2000 for exact stops and times as race day approaches. Park at the 1st Avenue Stop and ride the "T" to the Allegheny Stop to avoid both pre- and post-race traffic.


Strollers/Dogs
Strollers and friendly dogs on leashes are welcome at the race. Runners with strollers and dogs must line up near the rear of the start area.
