At the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, we know your family’s day doesn’t fit inside school hours. That’s why our BASC program provides a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment both before the morning bell and after the final dismissal, ensuring your child is supported from start to finish.

Before School Care

Kick-start your child’s day with our Before School Care program. We provide a nurturing atmosphere where children can enjoy a healthy breakfast, engage in stimulating activities, and get ready for the school day ahead.

After a full day of learning, let your child unwind and continue their growth at our After School Care program. From homework help to exciting recreational activities, we offer a variety of opportunities for your child to explore their interests and develop new skills.

Infant Care: 6 Weeks to 17 Months

Interacting, learning, and growing—every day!
Our infant program is built around the Creative Curriculum, a research-based approach that supports each child’s unique developmental needs. With nurturing routines, stimulating activities, and meaningful experiences, infants build a strong foundation for learning and growth. YMCA staff provide loving care and keep parents connected with daily updates, ensuring you are part of your child’s journey every step of the way.

Toddler Care: 18 to 35 Months

Busy, curious, and eager to explore!
Toddlers learn quickly, and our Creative Curriculum focuses on responsive care that nurtures their curiosity while building independence. Routines, play, and discovery activities help children develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Staff work closely with families on milestones like self-help skills and toilet training, supporting each child at their own pace.

Preschool: 3 to 5 Years

Hands-on learning for confident, creative thinkers.
Our preschool program uses the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, a research-based approach that helps children grow into enthusiastic learners. Children leave our program ready for kindergarten and excited about the world around them.

This state-wide initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning takes a continuous, systemic approach to assess, improve and communicate the level of quality in early and school-age care and education programs in Pennsylvania.
