There’s nothing like a classic YMCA summer! Our Traditional Summer Day Camp offers a balance of active play, creative projects, and social growth in a safe, welcoming environment. Each day, campers participate in activities like swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, sports, and team-building games. Designed to keep children engaged, moving, and having fun, this program helps kids develop friendships, build confidence, and make memories that last a lifetime.

This week, campers step into a world of mystery, clues, and creative problem-solving as they unlock their Golden Ticket to Detective Adventures! Campers will craft their own custom magnifying glasses, sharpen their observation skills during a thrilling camp-wide escape room challenge, and team up with their families for an exciting Eye Spy Take-Home Mission. It's a week packed with brain-boosting fun, larger-than-life imagination, and unforgettable detective discoveries!

June 15-19, 2026 Messy Science Madness

Get ready to splash, mix, fizz, and experiment as campers unlock their Golden Ticket to Messy Science Madness! This week is all about hands-on discovery and joyful chaos as young scientists explore how creativity and curiosity can lead to incredible breakthroughs. Campers will launch colorful explosions, navigate the slippery and silly challenges of The Great Goo Gauntlet, and learn how they can care for the planet by taking home their very own environment-friendly plant to nurture throughout the summer. It’s curiosity unleashed—and it’s going to be unforgettable!

June 22-26, 2026 Lights, camera ... Summer!

Lights, camera… SUMMER! Campers will unlock their Golden Ticket to Movie Magic as they step into a week filled with imagination, characters, and blockbuster-style fun. Throughout this cinematic adventure, campers will create their own popsicle stick Cars characters, they’ll channel their inner Jedi during an action-packed game of tag, show off their personality and excitement during a dress as your favorite character day, and wrap up the week with a special family movie-themed event that celebrates stories, togetherness, and camp community. From creativity to role-play to shared experiences, this week invites kids to celebrate the stories they love while building confidence, friendships, and unforgettable summer memories.

June 29-July 3, 2026 Celebration Spectacular

This week, campers unlock their Golden Ticket to holiday celebrations, traditions, joy, and community. Campers will take on the glowing challenge of the light the path obstacle course, inspired by the brilliant lights and energy of Diwali. Everyone will join in the fun during Everyone’s Birthday Celebration, a camp-wide party where each camper is celebrated—because every child deserves to feel special. The excitement continues with high-flying straw rockets, combining creativity and science as campers launch their own mini celebrations into the sky. This week highlights belonging and pure joyful fun as campers discover that holidays are about connection, brightness, and celebrating one another.

July 6-10, 2026 Wild Animal Adventures

Campers will unlock their Golden Ticket to Wild Animal Adventures as they explore the colorful, curious, and exciting world of animals. Campers will create a vibrant handprint macaw, and they will test their balance and teamwork during the hilarious penguin waddle relay, working together just like animals do in the wild. Families will join in on the fun through a nature walk & hunt, encouraging everyone to observe, explore, and connect with the natural world. From imaginative art to active play to outdoor discovery, this week will explore the wild world of animals.

July 13-17, 2026 Pride of Pittsburgh

This week, campers unlock their Golden Ticket to celebrate the Pride of Pittsburgh, celebrating the spirit, creativity, and community that make our city unforgettable. From sports traditions to hometown kindness, campers will dive into classic Pittsburgh fun while learning what it means to be part of a strong community. Campers will spread joy at the kindness carnival, and tap into their black-and-gold creativity as they design their own Terrible Towel, adding a personal twist to one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic symbols. The campers will show their hometown spirit on dress like your favorite Pittsburgh or local sports team day. The week wraps up with a family event that brings everyone together to celebrate community, connection, and Pittsburgh pride. From kindness to creativity to classic local traditions, this week helps campers feel proud of where they’re from—and excited to celebrate it with others.

July 20-24, 2026 Galactic Adventures

Campers will unlock their Golden Ticket to Galactic Adventures as they blast off into a week filled with imagination, cosmic creativity, and out-of-this-world fun. Young space explorers will design their own swirling Chalk Galaxy Art, continue the excitement with the high-energy don’t drop the asteroid challenge, where campers must work together, stay focused, and move quickly to keep their “asteroid” from crashing. This week invites campers to imagine new worlds, celebrate teamwork, and boldly explore the unknown—one stellar adventure at a time.

July 27-31, 2026 Olympic Spirit

Campers will unlock their Golden Ticket to Olympic Spirit as they dive into a week filled with teamwork, determination, and celebration of every camper’s unique strengths. The week kicks off with crafting their own mini torches, and then taking that excitement into a torch relay, working together to pass the flame from team to team in a joyful display of unity and encouragement. The campers will use the torches to kick off their own Camp Olympics, and then in the spirit of compassion and inclusion, campers will create cards for Special Olympics/Para Olympic participants, celebrating athletes of all abilities and learning the importance of support, kindness, and community. 

August 3-7, 2026 Wizarding Wonders

Campers will unlock their Golden Ticket to Wizarding Wonders as they enter a magical world filled with imagination, mystery, and whimsical surprises. Young wizards will create their own crystal ball, while learning how creativity and curiosity can reveal new possibilities. The adventure continues with the spell caster game, where campers practice teamwork, quick thinking, and a touch of wizardly flair. Families will then join in on the fun and enchantment during a special wizarding family event, bringing everyone together for an evening of magic, fun, and shared discoveries. 

August 10-14, 2026 Survivor Quest

Campers will unlock their Golden Ticket to Survivor Quest as they take on a week filled with teamwork, strategy, and outdoor adventure. The week begins with each group designing a unique tie-dye bandana. The campers will compete in a series of Survivor Games, testing teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience while searching for hidden camp idols that offer fun twists in their challenges. Alongside the adventure, campers will practice compassion and community responsibility through a camp-wide food drive, learning that true strength comes from helping others.

If you're not currently a YMCA member but would like to register for Summer Day Camp, Before and After School Care, or any other YMCA program, and have not created an account in CORE yet, you can create a free account in advance to streamline the registration process when it opens. Here’s how:

  1. Follow the link: https://pittsburgh.recliquecore.com/login/
  2. On the far right of the screen, select "I have never been a member or participant and I want to create a new account."
  3. Create your login information and click "Continue."
  4. On the branch selection page, choose "Youth Enrichment/Childcare" to access program registration as a Non-Member. This includes $0 membership dues, and you'll only be charged for the programs you select.
  5. Complete your profile by adding authorized adults for child pick-up and the child(ren) who will be participating.
  6. Once your profile is set up, click "Add Program" to select the Youth Enrichment Program or any other desired program.

PAYMENTS

DEPOSITS:
A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $10-$25 per week, depending on the camp chosen, will be charged at the time of registration.  The deposit is required to hold your spot, as many of our camps sell out. The remaining weekly fee will be drafted on the Friday before a given camp week. Payments will be made via debit/credit card or bank draft only and will be scheduled automatically. Campers will not be permitted to attend camp until fees are paid in full.

CANCELLATIONS, WITHDRAWALS, AND REFUNDS:
Cancellations and withdrawals made fewer than 14 days in advance will be charged the full tuition.

There is no place like Y Day Camp – To belong, achieve and build relationships. Kids discover not just the wonders of day camp, but the joy of exploring their unique traits, talents, and interests and the power of sharing their strengths and skills to benefit the group.

DAILY SCHEDULE
Daily hours for each YMCA meet the needs of many families in the communities served. Each day camp is closed on July 3 (for July 4th), a national holiday. Confirm with your camp for specific camp weeks and hours. Each program has a daily schedule to meet the needs of the children. Schedules are posted at the site and are provided to each family weekly. Camp splits time inside and outside. Outside time is in the sun, shade, or shelters.

OUR STAFF

DAY CAMP STAFF
Recruiting, selecting, training, and supporting the staff is essential today's camp success. The YMCA leaders have 30 hours of training, background checks, first aid, CPR, experience in working with camper, knowledge of recreation activities, and must model the Y’s core values.

STAFF RELATIONSHIPS OUTSIDE OF THE Y PROGRAM
For the safety and protection of your camper and our staff, Y employees are not permitted, under any circumstances, to provide individual transportation for any camper or to bring or take a camper home. Y staff and personnel are not allowed to babysit for program participants, spend time outside of the program with our families, or contact families by personal phone, email, social media, or internet. Please do NOT put our staff at risk of losing their position with us by asking them to compromise these YMCA staff policies.

Leaders in Training (LIT) program at the YMCA

The Leaders in Training (LIT) program at the YMCA is designed for youth ages Rising 7th grade to Rising 9th grade who are ready to grow into confident, capable leaders. Through engaging activities, mentorship, and hands-on opportunities, participants will develop essential life skills like teamwork, communication, and problem solving.

This program will provide the camper with the classic camp experience while also empowering them to step outside their comfort zones, discover their unique leadership styles, and make a positive impact in their community. Whether they’re learning to lead a group activity,

Assisting with younger campers, or working on service projects, every moment is a chance to grow, connect, and shine.
