Build Strength, Confidence, and Community
Our LIVESTRONG® program focuses on gentle strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, and balance exercises tailored specifically for cancer survivors. Beyond physical fitness, the program emphasizes emotional wellness, motivation, and community support, connecting participants with others who share similar experiences.

At the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, we provide a supportive, encouraging environment where participants work at their own pace under the guidance of trained instructors who understand the unique challenges of life after cancer.

  • Regain physical strength and energy levels

  • Improve flexibility, balance, and mobility

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Gain confidence to resume daily activities

  • Connect with a supportive community of fellow survivors

The LIVESTRONG® program is open to adults who have completed cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. Participants should be cleared by their physician to engage in a light-to-moderate physical activity program.

At the YMCA, we’re more than a gym. We’re a community dedicated to helping you reclaim your health and vitality. Our experienced instructors, welcoming environment, and focus on holistic well-being make LIVESTRONG® a safe, empowering space to rebuild strength and confidence after cancer.

Thanks to the support of our Annual Campaign donors, LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is offered at no cost to cancer survivors and provides facility access to the survivor’s household. Space is limited for each session to allow for a low instructor-to-participant ratio. Survivors are limited to participating once, in order to accommodate others.
